Sage Jepson (they/them/he) is a compassionate actor/singer/songwriter/poet/clown from Edmonton, Canada, based in Brooklyn, NY. They hold a BFA in Musical Theater, with an emphasis in Songwriting from Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Sage is currently apart of the National Touring Company of SHREK, as the Big Bad Wolf, Thelonius and Shrek u/s, under the direction of Danny Mefford (Choreographer- Kimberly Akimbo/Dear Evan Hansen). The tour features a brand new book by Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire, where Sage was apart of the development lab in Fall 2023. Earlier this spring, Sage originated Dandelion at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford, CT, bringing to life the beloved Lion from Don Freeman’s children book, Dandelion. Sage’s additional credits include Roger in Rent (Seacoast Repertory Theatre), Horton in Seussical (Alison Benko/Weston Theatre Company), Jimmy Winter in Nice Work if You Can Get It (Ethan Paulini/Weathervane Theatre) and developing Daedalus/Minotaur, in Sanctuary by Connor Wentworth.

They have appeared at iconic cabaret spaces in New York, including 54 Below and most recently Green Room 42, where they did the entire Defying Gravity number in tribute to the Trevor Project. As a songwriter, you can find Sage performing with indie folk rock duo, Grace + Sage, as well as their solo music, lavender boy, out on all streaming platforms. In April 2024, Sanctuary (Book by Connor Wentworth) will premiere at 54 Below, with Sage being apart of the musical collective providing music and lyrics.

The dream is to create innovative and meaningful art through inclusive storytelling. Sage wants to clown around, devise and follow impulses, whether that be inside a cardboard box, on a crowded street, or on a proscenium stage. They believe that it's crucial to uplift artists of all abilities in and outside of the rehearsal room. Sage is a Cancer sun, Aquarius moon and Leo rising- if astrology is being considered.
